Type 2 Diabetes

The most common form of diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. It occurs when your body becomes resistant to insulin or doesn’t produce enough insulin; it develops gradually and often without symptoms. You’re more likely to get type 2 diabetes if there’s a family history – diet, exercise and body weight can increase your risk, too.

It’s important to manage type 2 diabetes carefully so you reduce the risk of developing complications from the condition. That’s where Macintyre Health can help. We work closely with your doctor and you to tailor a plan for blood glucose monitoring, healthy eating and regular exercise to help slow the progression of your type 2 diabetes and reduce the likelihood of long-term complications.

Even if your current diabetes management is complex, our skilled consultants have a wealth of experience and are here to help you and your team.
